The ILO Director General, Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, made a historic visit to Zimbabwe in December 2024, marking the first-ever visit by such a high-ranking official from the ILO. During this two-day visit, he met with key social partners, including government representatives, organized business, and labor unions, to discuss pressing issues such as income stability, social dialogue, and the promotion of decent work. The visit underscored Zimbabwe’s commitment to improving labor relations and implementing ILO conventions for the betterment of its workforce.
